Raz-Kids Link

Raz Kids is an interactive reading website. Children have the choice of reading or being read to. The Bookroom includes hundreds of books of various reading levels. Membership is required with a nominal fee.

Scholastic Parents Link

A website dedicated to everything child. On this site, parents can access a variety of helpful articles, links to other parents resources, order books and videos, and sign up to receive a monthly newsletter etc.

Preschool Education Link

This website provides you with ideas for learning through play and thematic units. This site has lesson plans, craft ideas, activities and a parents forum. The site is a little difficult to navigate but does contain some great information.

PBS Kids Link

A great site containing all your favorite PBS characters. There are stories, cartoons, games, activities...just lots of fun! Easy to navigate and a good site for introduction to learning how to use a computer with simple drag-and-drop games.

Apples 4 The Teacher Link

A website intended for homeschooling parents but also offers preschool games and activities for reading, math, science, socials studies and art.

Helping your overweight children. Overweight is a serious health concern for children and adolescents. Data from two NHANES surveys (1976–1980 and 2003–2004) show that the prevalence of overweight is increasing: for children aged 2–5 years, prevalence increased from 5.0% to 13.9%; for those aged 6–11 years, prevalence increased from 6.5% to 18.8%; and for those aged 12–19 years, prevalence increased from 5.0% to 17.4%. Overweight children and adolescents are at risk for health problems during their youth and as adults.

RCOE Resource and Referral Link
